Breaking News! Halesowen Town sold to new owner
It is my pleasure to announce that earlier today an agreement was reached to sell the club to a local semi retired businessman who intends to make a statement on the club’s website shortly.
As per my previous statement, the businessman has all the key components that the club insisted on in its search for a new owner. He is young, he is local, he has experience both in business and financially, he has fresh ideas, and he has time to spend on taking the club forward.
The new owner’s bid was highly realistic in its aspirations and meets the 5 pillar criteria that I and my brother envisioned for the club in that:
1) The club must be run within its means
2) An outreach program to local schools and businesses must take place with an emphasis on bringing a more youthful element to the club
3) The club must be a social entity that serves the local community and in so doing must be allowed to make profit from all its activities
4) Development of young local talent must remain a medium term goal
5) Long term success on the field must not be bought by the pocket of the owner but by the collective goodwill of the entire community.
On behalf of everyone at the club we wish the new owner well and appeal to the community of Halesowen to get involved and get behind him.
The Chairman
